Whats in a name?

I've been overwhelmed with the question: "Where did you come up with the new name? And why the change?"

Well its simple, sorta! 

When I first started out I was just doing Diaper Cakes, that quickly evolved to Cupcakes, Lollipops and Candy, Flowers, (awesome) Wipes Cases, Gift Baskets, and the list goes on. Now I have things like Taggie Blankets, Crayon Rollers, Pin Cushion Rings (Love them!), Coffee Sleeves (Fabric, reversible, reusable, Bliss!), and Tea Wallets ( a must have!).
It just felt like with all these new items added (and more in the works) I needed a change, something that covered all the new items. Deciding to change the name was the easy part...now the hard part: coming up with a new name!
I knew with the wide range of products offered we did not want a company name that covered only a select few. I tried playing around with a couple names, but after looking them up on line there were always 15 other business with a slight variation of it. So after talking with some friends, I decided to go a bit personal, maybe something connected with the kids. After all my kids are my inspiration!  I started thinking about nicknames I have for my kids. Of course! Sugarplum and Applesauce! I have always called my younger two my Sugarplum and Applesauce. So why not use it for the business? And thus Sugarplum and Applesauce Boutique was born!

So now that the hard part was over, its time to change everything over! That means re-editing years of photos and renaming them, a new facebook fan page, this blog, and even twitter!

I am very excited about this new direction, new name, and new products! I don't know where this new adventure will lead me, but I am looking forward to finding out!
